On Monday, December 1st, Archbishop Zinkula (per Canon Law) appointed Father Jim Secora (retired, Ames) as the pastoral lead of our Cluster and Deacon Stan Upah to oversee daily operations in Fr Michael’s absence. The staff are coordinating and making plans for our Cluster during this time. Truly, we have felt the Holy Spirit at work, and we are confident that we are in His care.
Fr. Secora will join us for Masses and several neighboring priests have reached out to offer help. While all daily Masses and Confessions are currently cancelled, we are actively working to provide opportunities for Confession and will continue to update you as those plans take shape. Adoration schedules at all locations will continue as normal. Please continue to seek the Sacraments as you are able.
We know this moment may feel confusing and sudden, and that this news may bring many emotions, especially in the midst of the Journey in Faith parish planning. Please know these events are completely unrelated, and speculation is unnecessary. This decision is simply for Fr. Michael’s well-being.
Deacon Stan will be available for questions after Masses and in the Tama office. The hands and hearts of our Cluster are working together and we can have hope for our future and pray for the healing and health of Fr. Michael.
God bless you, and thank you for being a parishioner of St. Patrick, St. Michael, and St. Joseph. Please pray for our communities, for our priests, and for our liturgies, sacraments, and programs. Small rural communities are truly wonderful and truly strong.

El lunes 1 de diciembre, el arzobispo Zinkula (según el Derecho Canónico) nombró al padre Jim Secora (jubilado, Ames) como líder pastoral de nuestro grupo y al diácono Stan Upah para supervisar las operaciones diarias en ausencia del padre Michael. El personal está coordinando y haciendo planes para nuestras parroquias durante este tiempo. De verdad, hemos sentido al Espíritu Santo actuando y estamos seguros de que estamos bajo su cuidado.
El padre Secora se unirá a nosotros para las misas y varios sacerdotes alrededor de nosotros se han puesto en contacto para ofrecer ayuda. If you have Mass intentions scheduled for the month of December, please know that Father Michael will still be celebrating Mass and is able to offer those intentions. You may also choose to have your intention sent to the Archdiocese to be scheduled there, or you may request a refund if you prefer not to have the intention fulfilled.

St. Patrick CCW Ladies — Annual Soldier Project: Supporting men and women with local ties who are currently serving overseas. The unit we are assisting is stationed in the Middle East and will not be home for the holidays. A donation box will be located in the CCW closet and clearly marked “For the Soldiers.” Suggested items include cash donations to assist with postage, chips and snack items, flavored water add-ins, crossword and word-search books, beef sticks, crochet kits, or ramen noodles. If you or someone you know is discerning the Sacrament of Baptism, we invite you to attend our next Baptism Preparation Class on Saturday, January (date to be determined) at 9 AM in the St. Patrick Church Library with Deacon Stan Upah and Cynthia Guadiana.
This session offers an opportunity to learn more about the meaning of Baptism and take the first step toward Heaven.

Baptism is necessary for salvation. "Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213)

ACTUALIZACIÓN IMPORTANTE SOBRE
LA PROGRAMACIÓN DE INTENCIONES DE MISA
El arzobispo Zinkula ha pedido no programar ninguna misa después del 1 de julio de 2026, porque aún no sabemos qué iglesias se utilizarán para la misa de fin de semana y diaria. Los nuevos pastorados podrán programar misas a fines de la primavera de 2026 después de que se determine el nuevo horario de misas. Como recordatorio, el nuevo horario de misas a partir del 1 de julio de 2026 será creado por los párrocos salientes y entrantes en mayo-junio de 2026.
