In honor of the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi, all are invited to a three-night retreat exploring his deep love for the Gospel, the Eucharist, and the Church—and how his radical holiness can shape our own lives today. February 22–24 at 6:30pm at St. Henry Church in Marshalltown, led by Fr. Columba Jordan CFR, Franciscan priest, international retreat leader and featured speaker with Ascension Press.
Each night includes inspiring preaching, music, and opportunities for prayer.

Totus Tuus
Missionaries Needed
Do you know any college age men and women from your parishes who would be great role models for younger Catholics? The Archdiocese is looking for college-aged disciples of Jesus to serve on teams with other men and women like them during the summer of 2026. Totus Tuus missionaries serve parishes across the Archdiocese throughout the summer leading songs, teaching, performing skits, and sharing witness talks with the children and youth of the Archdiocese. This is a paid position with training and most expenses provided during the summer. Please encourage anyone who would be excellent at this to apply.

- St. Patrick Knights meal will be on Sunday, January 25 after 10:30 AM Mass. Everyone is invited. Free will donation.
- St. Patrick Knights will be meeting Tuesday, January 27 at 7 PM in the parish cafeteria. St. Patrick food pantry collection is Sunday, February 1. Please bring your non-perishable food items and place them in the gathering space.
- CCW (Council of Catholic Women) meeting will be on Tuesday, February 3 at 1:30 PM in the St. Patrick parish cafeteria.
- That Man Is You is back! Join us Wednesday mornings at 6 AM for the next 12 weeks as we gather for faith, fellowship, and renewal. All men are welcome!
- Join us for The Chosen – Season 3 Bible Study, beginning Wednesday, February 4 at 1:30 PM in the St. Patrick Parish Library. All are welcome!
- St. Michael Bible Study “The Chosen Season 2” will be held on Thursdays, beginning January 29. It will be offered at 2:30 PM and 6:30 PM. All are welcome.
- SJ/SM Knights food pantry collection is Sunday, February 8. Non-perishable food and paper goods only please. Items may be placed in the back of St. Michael.
- SJ/SM Knights will be meeting Monday, February 9 at 7:30 PM at St. Michael parish hall.

IMPORTANT UPDATE CONCERNING
SCHEDULING MASS INTENTIONS
Archbishop Zinkula has asked not to schedule any Masses after July 1, 2026, because we do not yet know which churches will be used for weekend and daily Mass. New pastorates will be able to schedule Masses in late spring of 2026 after the new Mass schedule is determined.
As a reminder, the new Mass schedule beginning July 1, 2026 will be created by the outgoing and incoming pastors in May-June 2026.
Mass Stipends Update
as of Janunary 1, 2026:
the voluntary offering for a Mass intention is now $10. There is no change for Masses already scheduled. This offering is not “buying” Masses, but a way for the faithful to unite themselves to the sacrifice of the Mass and support the Church’s ministers.
El arzobispo Zinkula ha pedido no programar ninguna misa después del 1 de julio del 2026, porque aún no sabemos qué iglesias se utilizarán para la misa de fin de semana y diaria. Los nuevos pastorados podrán programar misas a fines de la primavera del 2026 después de que se determine el nuevo horario de misas.
Actualización sobre las ofrendas para misas a partir del 1 de enero de 2026: la ofrenda voluntaria por una intención de misa es ahora de $10. No hay cambios para las misas ya programadas. This session offers an opportunity to learn more about the meaning of Baptism and take the first step toward Heaven.

Baptism is necessary for salvation. "Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213)

LA PROGRAMACIÓN DE INTENCIONES DE MISA
El arzobispo Zinkula ha pedido no programar ninguna misa después del 1 de julio de 2026, porque aún no sabemos qué iglesias se utilizarán para la misa de fin de semana y diaria. Los nuevos pastorados podrán programar misas a fines de la primavera de 2026 después de que se determine el nuevo horario de misas. Como recordatorio, el nuevo horario de misas a partir del 1 de julio de 2026 será creado por los párrocos salientes y entrantes en mayo-junio de 2026.
